May make me interested enough to become a Netflix subscriber.....

Right now I use Amazon video through my BlueRay Player and we were just talking about Amazon Prime which provides access to there entire video library......something to put on the cork-board if someone is interested in a different video vendor plugin project....

Amazon Prime is next on my list since I already have a Prime account. As soon a I figure out a way to deal with a couple of issues with the Netflix player (why can't things be simple like they used to be?).

Covers view (Icon view also works but not nearly as impressive):

And the coup de gras:

(The plugin is visible at the bottom only for my testing and to show that it's real)

@psycik, I don't think profiles will be much of a problem.

Definitely teased! Big Grin Let me know if there's anything an irish user can do to help (or a user with a SmartDNS service that can access any region).

Assume there's no way to fool Netflix into thinking I have a win8 set-up for 5.1 sound (on a win7 nPVR setup)??

IE 11 (the preview is available for Win7 SP1 and newer) will allow you to get SuperHD and I believe that it will also allow 5.1 sound. I'm having trouble getting the HTML 5 player to work in a plugin though. It seems that even if you have IE11 installed, the webbrowser control in .Net will only run in IE10 (or lower) emulation mode so we may have to stick with Silverlight for now. It's a shame because the HTML 5 player gives background art information for movies whereas the the API only has it for series.

As far as I can tell the IE11 preview for win7 doesn't support HTML5 video and is using Silverlight. Which I assume means no Super HD or 5.1 sound Sad

If it doesn't support HTML5 then no, it won't do SuperHD/5.1. Another beauty of the HTML5 player is that it gives FanArt images for Movies and not just Series like the API does. Unfortunately, I can't get the .Net webbrowser control to support HTML5 with Encrypted Media Extensions either (unless I pay $15K to license PlayReady). So for HTML 5, I'm going to need to actually launch IE externally and try to hook keyboard/remote events and translate them to mouse clicks in the IE window (because the HTML5 player does not have key commands for FF/RW). Piece of cake. Rolleyes

Controlling the Silverlight player presents it's own challenges as well.

Cool... I'll keep my eye out for that in the future.
