NextPVR and secure channels

I've been struggling to set up WMC due to really annoying freezing issues that I can't seem to get past. A viable option seems to be NextPVR and XBMC. However, I've seen some web posts about even with using a HDHomerun Prime with an M-card there can be issues with seeing secure channels. Has this been resolved, or maybe the better question is how do we work around this.

WMC is the only application that supports copy-never/copy-once channels from cablecard.

All other apps that support cablecard tuners, like NextPVR, Mediaportal etc, are limited to copy-freely channels.

The only real work around is using a STB, with a device like Hauppauge HDPVR2 etc (or older analog capture device if you're happy standard definition).
