My guide data disappeared several weeks ago. In the past when this happened, I found a new version of mc2xml and that fixed the problem, but I have the latest version and there haven't been any recent updates. No settings have been changed in many months, and it was working fine until a few weeks ago. The mc2mxl command is:

mc2xml -c us -g 19460 -d 168 -o TVGUIDE.xml -s -6

I checked the xml output file (this is for antenna / over the air only). The guide data is all there, but it looks like the channel numbers are wrong. One example:

<channel id="I48.28455483.microsoft.com">
<display-name>48 KYWDT</display-name>
<display-name>48</display-name>
<display-name>KYWDT</display-name>
<display-name>KYWDT (KYW-DT)</display-name>
<display-name>CBS Affiliate</display-name>
</channel>

KWY is CBS, channel 3 for me (digital frequency is 26). Why does it say "48"? I have no idea... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KYW-TV)

I think I could probably remap channels in the NPVR settings ->Channels, so "48" maps to my channel 3 / kyw. But then I assume if/when the problem is ever fixed, I would have to do it all over again, remapping every channel. Is there some way I can back up the original and copy it over if this problem gets fixed? Since it has been like this for a number of weeks now, I'm not sure when it might get fixed?

Note: I did try to delete the XML guide data, and let it refresh automatically, but this did not help, still had the wrong channel numbers.

Has anyone else seen this before, and what did you do?

Well I ended up just remapping the channels in npvr settings channels. Hopefully these channels stick around for a while.

I believe you will see the problem again. See my writeup on the issue:
