Just wanted to report in, I don't seem to be able to reproduce the problem by setting up an Automatic EPG update then restarting the recording service. I've done this a half dozen times, and it works perfectly each time. I'll keep trying, but I'm convinced that restarting the recording service is causing it to work successfully.
