Client channel change problems

I had channel change problems last night (8/11) on 1 of my W10 clients. About 5 time is a row the client froze after a channel change. The sixth time it started working - strange.

Today (8/12)- no problems so far.

I hooked up my HVR-950Q and am still having the same problem with channel changes. That might rule out that its a tuner issue.

Also somewhat related, I swapped out the LAV decoder due to poor skip performance and its still happening, so probably not a decoder issue.

which decoder are you using now? several are known to not play nice with channel changes

I installed the Antipack and am using MPC for video and AC3Filter for audio. I tried ffdshow but was only able to get that working on 1/3 computers, the other two ended up with black screens when tuning a channel.

I am using ffdshow on all my clients and all work fine. The channel change issue definitely confuses me though. In fact, I think I started this particular thread in the first place.

I was having issues on both W7 and W8.1 with channel change. The only way I could effectively change the channel without a lockup was to stop live TV play first, then switch the channel, then restart live play.

For some reason, (I don't know why), after upgrading the W7 clients to W10, the channel issue disappeared, even on the W8.1 clients and to this day, no lockups of any sort during any method of changing channels - where a change typically takes 1-2 seconds, if that.

I upgraded to 3.5.7. This only seems to be an issue when acting as a network client, the W10 box with the tuner configured can change channels as expected.
