3) Not to my knowledge, but it'll always start on the last viewed channel. That in itself will be stored either in config.xml or in the npvr.db3 database file, so if it's not possible you could always write something to update the appropriate value before launching.

Bad news. The "Last Channel" information in "config.xml" does not support sub-channels (only the 2 digit frequency), and "npvr.db3" does not appear to contain anything helpful. So creating a stand-alone app to pre-set the channel won't work.
Setting the "UI Mode" to "TV Viewer" so it opens straight to TV doesn't work. Black screen. TV never comes up. Must change the mode back to "PVR" and select "Live TV" from the menu.
Is NextPVR still in development? It really needs some sort of indicator when it is recording, and the ability to stop a recording without canceling all scheduled future recordings.
