Yep, it's certainly getting a bit more attention.

Reading paragraphs like the following though, I'm never quite sure if I should come away pleased or insulted Big Grin
Quote:NextPVR: The most painless of the lot

After examining a bunch of options, I settled on NextPVR as a replacement for Windows Media Center’s DVR features. It’s not the slickest program around, but I found the setup process easier to follow than other programs like Kodi and MediaPortal (which isn’t saying much, by the way).

I played with MediaPortal ages ago and it is WORK! Kodi is easy and so is NPVR. And what do they mean by slick? Does it do more what you want it to do? Does it cost you anything?
Some people are just too particular. I know you don't want to go there sub but you really should charge something for this wonderful program.

There's a big "DONATE" button at the top of the page.

I don't consider the installer "slick" either. Configuration requires reasonable computer knowledge largely because the documentation is really lacking, installing the native remote client is just plain annoying. Installing NextPVR is much harder than WMC or SageTV for first timers especially for cheapskates who don't want to use Schedules Direct there just too many new concepts. MP and Myth are worse. However once installed I find the backend is rock solid and worth effort it is the most stable option I have ever come across.

That all being said an integrated automated wizard with an SD trial account linked to PRIME/Ceton tuner for Americans would be sick

I hear ya and I do donate when I can, usually once a year. But, now that you remind me, it has been awhile and I will be making another donation immediately.
I ask others to join me in doing so.

the author of that article screwed up at step #10 - he never switched the epg source to XMLTV nor mapped the channels. it probably appeared to work since most OTA channels do broadcast at least a few hours worth of EPG data.
