I would like to suggest an additional recording source which executes an external .EXE, in a similar manner to the .exe Changer plug-in.

The reason for this is to offer some support for cards, such as the non-PVR WinTV cards, DEC-2000-T, etc. which have a command line interface which allows recording of shows. I currently use this method with scheduled tasks on my old/live PVR PC.

Ideally GB-PVR would also pass along extra parameters, e.g.

{channel} Channel number
{channel_name}
{program_title}
{duration_mins} Length of program to record in minutes (WinTV2k.EXE expects minutes)
{duration_secs} Length of program to record in seconds (DVB-TV.EXE expects seconds)
{target_file} Complete path and filename
{target_path} Just the path to the file
{target_name} Just the name of the file

Any comments ?

I wouldn't mind that either! I have a WINTVPVRPCI card that records very well, but doesn't have WDM drivers. (Well it sort of does, but beta, and only partial)

Hi Pioneer4x4

That sounds like the original PVR card, I never got the WDM drivers to work reliably. I doubt you would be able to mix both WDM and non-WDM in the same PC, but it would be good for older systems.

Yep, that's the one. It records real well. I was using it first and watching on the MVP. I was having some kind of software issue where it would have glitches in the recordings if it wan's minimized during recording. Then I got a 150, and GBPVR, and haven't looked back. I think it's picture might be a bit better than the 150! And I would like to keep it for manual recordings, but I don't have a spare PCI slot. I should stick it in my 2000 server.....

Sounds like a good idea. I want to use my DEC2000 USB DVB box.

Hi All

Just thought I'd tie up this thread by mentioning ExternalRecorder plug-in which does most of the above. It can be found at :
