OK, I have NPVR working nicely on WIndows 10 however I am running into an issue that baffles me. I believe this to be a Windows 10 issue but here it goes. NPVR won't record to my WDMyCloud. It will however record to an internal hard disk drive that is connected via sata instead network based.

I suspect it is a creditentials/network issue, I admit my skills are weak in this area so I am asking for help to see if any other users have run into this or pointers as to articles/ideas on how to trouble shoot this scenario.

The 'NPVR Recording Service' run as system account, rather than the same account you log into your desktop as. Since it's a different account, it wont see any drive mappings you've made on your account.

The easiest fix is probably running "services.msc", and changing the user account to your account. Otherwise change your recording path to a UNC path (\\server\share) rather than a drive mapping.

there's also a utility to help with this called ShareHelper written by mvallevand. search the forum for it, it was in a fairly recent thread.
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct

Thank you for your responses... I have tried the UNC path however that doesn't work. I will try the sharehelper utility...

ok I did the NPVR change in service.msc and it worked!!! Thanks for your help!!!!
