API access to artwork and deleting recordings

When I try to download via GetMetadataEntity(), it throws a System.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException, "The given key was not present in the dictionary."

I've found the reason for this, and will supply a patch soon.

Another problem with using just the Schedules Direct artwork is that the fanart seems to be the 4:3 aspect ratio for many shows even with the 16:9 option in settings.

Give this one a go. It should make sure you get a 16x9 fanart if one is available. It works for The Goldbergs.

How does GetCachedMetadataEntity() work from a client? It doesn't seem to get the already cached metadata from the server, so would GetMetadatEntity() do it or does the client have to download the metadata from the internet independently from the server? Thanks.

The clients generally download their own copy of the artwork independently. It may change in the future - the artwork functionality was entirely rewritten only very recently, and while I have in mind extending client/server support to get it from the server, this hasn't been done yet.

I create a symbolic link to the Media folder to share metadata. I don't use episode art but the catalog files depends on drives being mapped the same.
