Scheduling Live TV

I would like to be able to launch NextPVR, have it tune to a particular channel at a particular time and immediately present the video for viewing.

Many times I find myself missing a live telecast because I'm at the machine but immersed in another task. I know I can record it for later, but I'd rather not commit to watching it later. There may be no time later. Having the telecast just pop-up in front of me is appealing.

Not Npvr natively but you can open a VLC instance using http://YOURIP:8866/live?channel=1010

Thanks for the tip, Snag. That works quite nicely as far as it goes. It seems that I lose the ability to pause/resume the stream. I could find nothing about that in the VLC Wiki and when I tried to pause, the stream quit after just a few seconds. Also, I'd have to add/edit entries into the Windows Task Scheduler and hope I make no typos.

So...I was thinking along the lines that I could select an entry from the NextPVR TV Guide. After pressing Enter to select the show, the standard menu would pop up with a new "Watch Later" menu item if the show starts in the future. NextPVR would do all that task scheduling. At the designated time, poof! Show pops on and all the fee-churs of watching live TV using NextPVR are available.
