I am not sure if this sort of post is frowned upon, because, actually, I dont even have an issue.

I just want to take the time to say how great this software really is and how solid it has been for me. As soon as I am finished making this post, I am going to donate. i cannot thank the developers enough for creating such a wonderful thing. In all honesty, when i left the MAC world (I was using EyeTV with the Elgato 350 PLUS), I couldnt imagine anything being better..until of course, I started using NextPVR.

2 Things that I feel make this AMAZING is

1. When there are back to back scheduled recordings on the same channel, I always have the timer padding set to record one minute early and end one minute late. I was blown away that it STILL does this even though one starts right after another..it layers the files....amazing..i was expecting it to splice the recording..(if that makes any sense at all)

2. This I JUST noticed. if I schedule a program to record all new episodes on a channel, and, it is scheduled at the same time as some other show in the same time slot, it will automatically look for the next airing (most of the times about 1:00am or 2:00am) and record it for me as to not conflict with what I have scheduled..... (unless I am misunderstanding something)... if so, please correct me on this Smile

This software is just incredible. Keep up the amazing work.....

Now, I must give you some of my money Smile

It is great software, and such posts are never frowned upon.

1. It's done that for a long, long time. (though originally it was limited to regular digital tuners but has been expanded recently to most other tuner types)

2. That's a fairly new feature that was added a couple of releases ago, though initially it had some bugs that had to be stamped out; I think it took another full release before it worked right. The only caveat with it is that the replacement or "alternative airing" recordings are unmanaged single recordings, so the "keep only xx episodes" logic won't work with those. This had to be done due to the way the scheduling logic works, and to avoid having to add a ton of extra logic to deal with it... a small price to pay to have many conflicts resolved automatically.

Enjoy, and do give sub some money.

That should be "developer" ... singular ... which makes it all the more remarkable.

not entirely true... sub is indeed the man, but most of the web interface comes from UJB, and while I don't know specifically, I've certainly gotten the impression that there's some bits of mvallevand's work in there too. Also I'm pretty sure I recall that the default skin for most of NextPVR's life was originally done by McBainUK. Let's just call it developed by sub with help from his friends.

You're right, of course ... my apologies to all concerned ... and thanks to beta testers, wiki writers and helpers on this forum ... and anyone else that I have forgotten.
