Can't get NextPVR client working on my new Android 5.1.1 TV Box.
Whenever I enter the NextPVR hostname it doesn't stay there.

I am using KODI v17, but I don't think that's the problem.
I sucessfully set up the NextPVR client and KODI v17 on a PC platform.

I'm really new at working with an Android system.
I suspect it has to do with the different network protocols?

Any sugestions? Thanx.

Yes; with/without SMB://, different port numbers, etc.
I was throwing everything I could think of at it.
As I said, this Android stuff is all new to me.

I was just hoping someone would have run into this already.

It isn't SMB that is for sure. Leave your IP nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn format turn on Kodi debug logging and upload your kodi.log, your best bet is to install the Kodi log uploader Addon and post the URL

Android boxes are difficult to diagnose for everyone becuase there are so many varieties, decoders and custom builds.

I can't explain what happened, or what sequence caused it, but the client appears to be working now.
(using the IP format you suggested; even though I tried it earlier)

However, the "hostname" field is still blank in the client config screen!

Also, the "run" button is grayed out in the config screen. Crazy.

But now that I'm able to run the addon, I have some problems with the audio/video.

Once I'm able to properly explain it, I'll be back.

It's a weird field in Kodi, it is invisible until you edit it. Android playback issues are not for this forums, usually for your manufacturer if it is not the official Kodi. If your box doesn't support h/w deinterlacing 1080i there will be problems. Play around with the different video decoders on your device.

Wifi might be an issue too so try wired too.

I see your point about not asking KODI player questions on this forum.
I will look into the 1080i and decoder issues you mentioned.

As for WIFI, all my testing has been with the box wired.
