Update EPG Schedule?

I am using EPGCollector to grab OTA EPG data into an XMLTV format, and this works good for me an has the great bonus of actually being free.

I have 1 major issue though, this OTA data only grabs anywhere from 3 to 6 hours worth of data. I can schedule the XML file to be updated 4 times a day, but it seems NextPVR will only load this XML file once a day?

Is there anyway to get NextPVR to load XMLTV data more frequently?

If you're ok using the Windows scheduler then you can also ask NPVR to update the EPG.

You can run NPVR as a command line with an option to update the EPG -updateepgonly Updates the EPG, NextPVR is not started.

THIS is what I was missing! Why is this not in the install instructions? After about giving up on next PVR I find this post and it solves my issue.

Out of curiosity is there any reason that the USA OTA only provides a minimal (now and next or a little bit more) EPG that is the root cause of these problems?
It would seem most other places give a weeks worth.

In the US, over-the-air broadcasters are only required to transmit 6 hours of listings. Very few ever transmit more than that. Digital cable isn't required to transmit any listings, so very rarely do.

In summary, in the states you can expect only a few hours of listings if you're using OTA, or none if you're doing digital cable. This is next to useless, so most people use Schedules Direct.
