But anyone can type 192.168.0.17:8866 into the browser and have access to my NEXTPVR without a password ect, is there a way to change this?


Also is there a way to only share certain channels Kids to different clients all Kodi

I have a computer downstairs that I would like to be able to access all channels and recordings

And also two computer upstairs that I would only like to have access to limited channels and recordings with no delete permission

Sorry, it's a "no" on both of these. I intended things to be as simple as possible for users accessing on a local network, so there is no prompts for login on the local network etc.

You might have to look at apache and reverse proxying the nextpvr web server. Then you could add authentication in that way.

To be honest, no I didn't have any explicit plans to add these, so all I can give you is a "maybe in a future build".

Actually I think browser security can be enabled in a couple of ways, I thought just changing the default username and password is enough. Certainly editing the allowed sub net masks will work too.

As a proof of concept the x-newa native client for Kodi can also be locked down to a specific channel group and to display marked recordings only. To lock it down further Kodi can be configured for multiple users with various roles (you would need to block out pvr-addons)
