I had nextpvr working great in Windows 7 Home Premium, but after updateing to the newer version i'm having all sorts of trouble. I have even started from scratch and reloaded Windows and downloaded the latest nextpvr install. The recording service is not waking from sleep to record, and when i manually WOL the recoding service isn't responding unless i reboot. Here are my log files let me know what you think, because i'm about ready to really start from scratch and format my hard driveand completely reinstall windows. Thanks.

Nothing has changed with the stuff that requests Windows be awake at recording and EPG update times. I've also not seen any reports of problems with this. You haven't changed anything else around the same time, like power management settings in Windows?

I tried all sorts of stuff, and when nothing worked I reloaded windows and tried to start from scratch and the same issues occured. I did not format my hard drive so that may have been why nothing changed. The previous version worked great and I know that others aren't having the issues I am having, so i thought maybe you would see something in the logs I was missing. I really like nextpvr especially the fact that I am able to load the web app on my samsung tv's so i refuse to give up on it, i only wish it ran on Linux. I am NOT a fan of windows or apple products. Keep up the good work you have a great program!

You might need to do some test so you can keep an eye on it.

ie, schedule a recording that starts soon, and you should see a message like this in nrecord.log:

2017-09-25 14:04:57.359 [DEBUG][9] Requesting wake up for 'RecordingOID886' at 9/25/2017 6:57 PM

This is saying that it has asked Windows to be awake at 9/25/2017 6:57 PM. Then put the machine to sleep, and your machine should wake at that time.

If it doesn't - confirm that you're getting the message in the log. If the log message is there, but the machine didn't wake, you're definitely putting it to sleep/standby, not shutting down? You could also look in the Windows Event Viewer for indications of any problems with this wakeup timer.

You can also run "powercfg /waketimers" after scheduling the recording, to see a list of the times Windows intends to wake.

For now since i am running this on a laptop i have just set it to not sleep. I checked the wake timers and at first glance it looks like nrecord has requested a wake event for each recording. Since i had reloaded windows there are a ton of updates so once that gets caught up i'll see if i can figure out this wake issue. Thanks again for the help.
