I copied a recorded file onto a USB drive for playing it on a Samsung TV in my brother's house.

it was playing OK until 5 minutes into the playback where a window popped up on the TV screen with the message "Audio format is not supported".

After that, I could only see the video with No sound.

Appreciate if you could provide a solution.

I assume that the audio was fine during the five minutes before the message "Audio format is not supported".

Does the same file play okay on other devices such as your brother's computer?

Yes. It plays fine on VLC, Kodi, etc. It was only on the Samsung Tv.

The playback capabilities of Samsung TV will vary by model and year. The .ts wrapper that NextPVR uses might also come into play in how the Samsung handles it. If the file is playable elsewhere there is nothing NextPVR can do for you.

For digital recordings via cable and OTA you pretty much have AC3 audio so if it plays in the beginning, audio should be ok, but it is possilbe that there is a switch to Dolby digital 5.1 that the player doesn't handle. If you have a smaller sample (maybe 6 minutes from the beginning) that you can upload somewhere we can take a look/listen.
