I had only wondered because my fast & loose math was way off. Right now it says my recording drive has 84:25 (151.7Gb) remaining for medium (which is all I use). My medium is 5600Kbits, 224/48Khz. A 30min show I reocrded is 1.2Gb and a 1hr show is 2.7Gb.

When do the math using either, I get 55-62 hours (using 2.7 (60) or 2.4 (30 *2)) for 151, but I can get 74-83 if I use the whole 200Gb, which using the 30min math, is about right.

So is based on the total drive, or just the free space? I checked other records, and found they stay consistantly at the sizes I used (two different days of the wiggles was only 400Kb difference).

Btw, this isn't an accounting audit, I'm just wondering what to go w/ when I use that function Big Grin

There is already too much info on main menu. It looks cluttered.

???

I dont. If I ask my wife once more what the time is, I'm sure she'll kill me.

lol - I own one, but I never wear it. My wife reminds me of the watch she bought me nearly every time I ask her for the time.

Well actually...

I rarely know the date, often the day of the week yes but not always and now that we are committed to gbpvr with a couple of MVP's around the house, my wife has made me pack up the hifi unit, wants to sell the furniture, move the room around and we've put the VCR up in the loft.

The VCR was nothing more than a clock in the lounge, now I don't have that.

hm. I never tried to make a skin.
Would it be easy to change the default skin myself? (No idea how...)

You guys have a great idea going! I bet a watch showing remaining HD space would be worth a fortune, listed in the computer section of ebay. Smile

In the meantime, I hope this is ok to share, sub, Jeff, Torque?
I kind of cobbled several things together, modified this, borrowed that. Rolleyes
Now I have available drive space showing all the time on my MediaMPV skin (Blue), and the computer skin (ContourHC).
I added ContourHC’s panel to Blue so I could use a common VAPanel.xml.

Sorry about the sloppy implementation, I haven’t done any form of hobby coding for over 15 years. I just modified a sample VB script to get the output format I wanted. Postprocessing.bat calls a com that runs the script, joins the files, and copies them to the proper folders.
I included basic directions, but it’s very simple to understand after looking at the contents of the files.

Warning very alpha!
I only use next recording, weather, my recording status icons, and the FreeSpace info. So feel free to modify and fix any problems you find.

Jim
