To make sure that I have followed the process correctly I restarted from scratch.

  1. I deleted all channels. I checked channel list in settings and Groups from screen display and all are removed.
  2. I re-scanned DVB-T.
  3. The channel list in All Channels group is in correct order.
  4. The channel list in DVB group is in wrong order.
  5. Following previous advice which I have previously tried to no effect but leaving no stone unturned I deleted the channels and did a rescan after adding <ScanDropTime>3000</ScanDropTime> to General section in config.xml in C:\Users\Public\NPVR folder. To my surprise this now delivers the channels in the correct order. I am SURE that this didn't work previously. But it does now.

I can't explain this and so apologise if I have wasted anyone's time.

Thanks for your assistance, Paul

If the 'all channels' group is in the correct order, with correct channel numbers, then the scan has worked fine.

It sounds like there is some bug lurking when it comes to using other channel groups. I'll look into it for NextPVR v5.

I had a need to re-initialise my devices and this has caused the channel re-order issue to reappear. Despite repeating the stepsin #31 the channel order problem persists.

#32 says "It sounds like there is some bug lurking when it comes to using other channel groups. I'll look into it for NextPVR v5". Did this lurking bug get discovered in the v5 work? Is it worth trying v5 to see if this provides a fix?

It is definitely worth trying v5. It might fix your problem and if not you still will have a better chance of fix in a version that is in active development.

FYI, if you're going to try v5, there will be a new release this weekend. (hopefully in the next few hours)

V5 is up and running with DVB-T and IPTV devices configured. Unlike V4 there isn't a separate group for DVB-T channels and it was the ordering in this group that was causing the problem. The All Channels group lists the DVB-T channels first as these have the lowest numbers so this is working well enough

I believe you would have created the DVB-T group manually and the order would be the order you added them.
