Are you talking about on the server side? I thought we were working on the client side.

Yes serve-side, since post #9 we are addressing the 500 error that is being returned.

Yeah it wasn't clear, I thought we were looking for the lib on the client side.

So rewinding a bit... actually situation isn't any different. On the server:

libgdiplus is already the newest version (4.2-2)

libc6-dev wasn't installed, but after installation, same result.

fritz@T1500:~$ sudo find / -iname libdl.*
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.a
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2
find: ‘/run/user/1000/gvfs’: Permission denied
/snap/core18/1144/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2
/snap/core18/1144/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2
/snap/core18/1192/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2
/snap/core18/1192/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2
/snap/core/7713/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2
/snap/core/7713/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2
/snap/core/4917/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2
/snap/core/4917/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2

fritz@T1500:~$ /opt/dotnet/dotnet --info

Host (useful for support):
Version: 2.2.7
Commit: b1e29ae826

.NET Core SDKs installed:
No SDKs were found.

.NET Core runtimes installed:
Microsoft.NETCore.App 2.2.7 [/opt/dotnet/shared/Microsoft.NETCore.App]

installing libx11-dev also doesn't help.

Seems like we're past where point-of-load debugging is useful, but if there's anything else you want me to try, let me know.

Do you have the server side log to confirm where we are at?

Hmm, I just restarted the server to reset the log file, and tried again, and it worked fine.

So at this point I would suspect that the reset was required to apply the fix, but the fix was installation of libc6-dev or libx11-dev, since those were the two changes I made to the system.

Then I removed libc6-dev and restarted the system, problem is back. Removed libx11-dev, reinstalled libc6-dev, restarted, works.

So installing libc6-dev appears to fix the problem.

Great thanks for keeping up with this, I will add this requirement to the .deb installer.
