I'll probably do the EPG anyway... it doesn't need much, most of it already works.

Thanks pkscout, yeah I will look at Estouchy.

I finished my Touch fixes, and sent them up. I haven't used github much so I'm not sure if I got that part right, Martin can you see the pull request?

Thanks, I haven't had an email notification so I didn't know it was there. I don't have a touch client running right now, but will see how it looks with a mouse.

Unfortunately I don't like multiple run option as it uses a random value so there is no way to identify a specific client. I would prefer a unique persistent value for each client. I don't care if you continue to use the mac address but I prefer something repeatable from the same client when I debug multiple sessions in the logs. I understand that the current implementation doesn't do either but if we are changing things lets' do it completely.

I'm presently completely stuck because every time I try to run video from knewc it crashes Kodi. Knewc is reverted to distribution version.

Can you see anything in these logs? Seems like "ffmpeg[7F887736F700]: [mpeg2video] Invalid frame dimensions 0x0." is suspicious.

There are also some 404's, not sure why those would be... credentials are good, tablet client is working just fine with knewc on that server.

I don't see a crash but I do see errors related to the startup

Code:
2019-10-28 23:20:39.430 T:140224092370688   DEBUG: ffmpeg[7F887736F700]: [mpegts] Could not find codec parameters for stream 0 (Video: mpeg2video ([2][0][0][0] / 0x0002), none(tv, top first)): unspecified size
2019-10-28 23:20:39.430 T:140224092370688   DEBUG: ffmpeg[7F887736F700]: [mpegts] Consider increasing the value for the 'analyzeduration' and 'probesize' options

I suggest trying a nightly and then 18.3 to see if it helps I know the patch that broke comskip was in this area too.

If that fails I suggest trying the same playback url with ffplayer which doesn't have the reduced probesize Kodi uses.
Years ago there was a patch from margo that reduced channel switching time but I have found it also breaks some ts stream playback. I haven't got any feedback on a few posts to optionally disable it. If you can compile Kodi I can tell you the line to change to make Kodi more like ffplayer.
