You need to stop the server to free up the tuner

sudo service nextpvr-serve stop

(you can use restart instead of stop if you aren't using the tuners)

Then scan each of your tuners.

dvbv5-scan /usr/share/dvb/atsc/us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB-062009

dvbv5-scan -a1 /usr/share/dvb/atsc/us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB-062009

I'm getting this for each frequency:

ERROR. command INVERSION (6) not found during store

That is normal but if there was a signal then it would lock. Do you have a reasonable antenna with no spits?

I tried a different antenna, same results. Maybe I have a bad WinTV-DualHD?

Does it work with Windows in the same location?

I pulled out an old PC, reformatted and re-installed Win7 64bit. With all the updates, took forever! Anyway, same WinTV-DualHD and antenna, pulls in 73 channels and works fine. I used v4 of NextPVR for this test. I'd rather use Raspbian and the Raspberry Pi though.

If you'd like me to test further, I'd love to. I think NextPVR is awesome and want to help if I can.

It won't be a NextPVR issue, but if you want to upload the journalctl output we can look to see if there is an error.
