So....It seems that all of my channels have been deleted after deleting a channel per this thread: https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=60195

I spent about 5 hours mapping channels using Schedules Direct along with an m3u file from my IPTV provider because, frankly, the automatic mapping feature did not work at all for me.

So I deleted an unwanted channel and all channels have disappeared. PLease see the attached. You can see that the groups are still present but my channles are missing.

Any idea on how I can get the channels back, keeping the time I have put into setting them up?

My guess is that you hit the 'delete' key when you had no channels selected, and didn't read the popup that said "Are you sure you want to delete ALL channels", and you went ahead an clicked 'OK'. (I've done this accidentally myself before)

If you deleted them, then they're gone.

I'd head to the Devices screen, hold the Ctrl key, hit the trashcan icon on your IPTV provider's device, then set them up again. This time, be sure to use the 'filter by channel group' checkboxes to only import the channel groups you're really interested in.

Ultimately the auto mapping feature can't work miracles. It can't only work out two channels are the same if their names are the same, so it'll only work as well as naming of your channels - blame the IPTV provider.

It tries to increase the odds of getting name matches by stripping prefixes the IPTV providers will often add (like "US: " or "UK: "). It'll convert Schedules Direct and IPTV provider names to uppercase when looking for matches. Even then you'll often get providers just spelling things differently, or sticking things like "(+)" or "EAST" or "WEST" etc on the names, which all help matches fail.

Yeah...I guess I F'd up.

Anyway....I downloaded the latest zip file just now and unzipped it into my NPVR folder at C:\Program Files\ NPVR. Is that the way to upgrade?

If it is, my service now stays in the "starting" mode. It never seems to go to "running"

Yes, just unzip it over the top of the existing install.

I'm not really sure why that would be. Maybe try rebooting.

I think that was the behavior when Windows was blocking Npvrservice.exe (or any of the other .exes) as potentially unsafe. And it would do that if you just unzipped on top of the old install. (Or if you just did a fresh install by unzipping.) In the past, I got it working by first opening a command window with admin privilege and manually running npvrserver.exe & npvrservice.exe and OK'ing running them. It is not at all obvious what the problem is. Sad
