(1)
I have been trying to get VideoredoTVsuite4 to find ads by a Postprocessing.bat file.
I started out putting the script in 'C:\Program files\NextPVR\data\scripts' as per the file 'placeholder.txt' in that folder.
This didn't work so I looked in the log and it seemed to be looking for the file in 'C:\Users\Public\NVPR-data\scripts'
so I put it there, and now it seems to be activated at the end of a recording as expected - but still not working correctly.
Is this the correct folder? perhaps that 'placeholder.txt' is a relic from the past.

(2)
I have put a file 'Postprocessing.bat' which contains the text as follows ->
cscript //nologo "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoReDoTVSuite4\AdScan.vbs" %1
into folder 'C:\Users\Public\NVPR-data\scripts'
now (a) This batch file is run at the end of the recording (I have verified it by getting it to do more stuff)
(b) it is being passed the correct filename in %1
but it doesn't work
however © if I drop a video file onto the batch file, that works as expected.

Does anyone know what might be happening here? I an suspecting its a permissions problem? and am guessing surely someone else has solved this before.

NB using a folder on d:\ to store the recordings, and fresh win 10 install.

I use videoredo to detect ads
When you call videoredo from postprocessing.bat by default it uses a local system account.
Videoredo treats this local system account as a new user and pops up several (hidden) dialog windows that you must click pass for the first time
Once you have got pass the first user run dialogs Videoredo runs properly from the bat without any user intervention.

To make the videoredo dialogs visible you can download the MS tool psexec
Then launch a command window (desktop interactive as local system account 'user')
psexec -s -i  -h cmd.exe
change to the video redo directory and run videoredo exe to get rid of the blocking first run dialogs
eg
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoReDoTVSuite4\VideoReDo4.exe"
C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoReDoTVSuite4\VideoReDo4.exe
you may need to modify to your drive and videoredo version

another option
Npvr also allows you to change the user context for scripts to your user account

Thanks, that did the trick. Would have never guessed that one.

Where did you find out about NextPVR running the script under a users credentials?

LOL I'm a long time lurker and user from way back and still remember the old forum and old posts on this topic

batch scripts are called from the Nrecord.exe service
you can change windows service user account from the log on tab of "NPVR Recording Service" in Services.msc
I'm still on the old version of NPVR so things may be changed in v5
