I've been trying to use a PC as a NextPVR DVR with some success, but feel like I have hit a dead end.  I'd love to keep using it, but I'm really not sure where to go.

I began with a Hauppauge 950Q plugged directly into the machine, but would get occasional errors around failing to start recordings.  I thought maybe it was related to standby or windows restarts, but decided to buy a HDHomerun Connect based on positive feedback.   I tried 2 different HDHomerun devices with NextPVR, but the Silicon Dust devices would interfere with my Arris cable modem and cause terrible signal levels on both devices, making everything unusable.   The Arris modem played nice with the 950Q.   The Arris modem played nice by itself.   The SiliconDust device also played nice by itself.   Arris + SD = Nothing works.

I'll mention this is a ClearQAM environment and my TVs can receive signals with no problems.   The 950Q sort of works, other than when it fails to record.  The Silicon Dust stuff has been hours of failure with limited success.

So, I'm ready to give up.   It there a different path I should pursue?   I have a Raspberry PI, but that was garbage for 950Q uses.   It couldn't tune much of anything.   My best success was the 950Q with Win10, but the random missed recordings were making me crazy.   Please advice gurus.

In this attempted a recording, the device wasn't connected.

Sounds like this is related to cable splitters affecting your signal levels...ultimately not something NextPVR has any control over. Maybe look if there is other places in your house where you already have splitters, that the HDHomeRun device could be connected.
