Hi, I've been trying to solve this myself, but I can't seem to get it. I did a new machine build but every time I setup a recording it always cuts off the first two minutes no matter what the pre padding is set to.

its an i5 10600 with an msi board, integrated graphics (for the time, stupid chip shortage) 16 gig ram 500 gig nvme drive

it wakes up correctly but I have no idea why its happening. This is a clean install of npvr 5 too using hdhomerun 3 tuner cable card.

There are several issues you have a batch file configured as an xmltv file and there are errors connecting to your hdhr at times.  Is this a clear QAM setup and is NextPVR your only client?

I thought I fixed my epg mistake, as the guide loads fine, but ill double check it again.

When the pc restarts on v5 atleast, it takes a long while to connect to the tuner at startup. I noticed this too when trying to view a channel, its slow to connect.

This is my only client and I don't think its clear qam? Its all just through the cable card...

Could it be something with my onboard network adapter?

It might have something to do with power management on a resume, there are some log messages missing here, before it fails to connect to your HDHR

Code:
2021-03-09 15:08:39.434    [DEBUG][25]    [Suspend]
2021-03-09 15:08:39.434    [DEBUG][25]    OnSleep...
2021-03-09 18:55:19.552    [DEBUG][9]    DefaultDirectoryChoice: first

I'm not sure what to look for then. Power options the profile is set to balanced. I don't know what else it could be.

It's a local issue. NextPVR has no control over sleep or resume other than it keeps Windows PC awake during recording and it sets the wake timers. You'll have to research Windows sleep on your machine or just keep your PC on 24/7

Try setting Windows to go to sleep after 20 minutes of inactivity ... there have been reports in the past (quite a while ago) of NextPVR and Windows getting their wires crossed ... the issue was resolved by adjusting the sleep inactivity setting.

I had it set to sleep at 45 minutes. it would sleep and wake up just fine, but looking at the message on web interface it said npvr service failed to start at the recording time, even though its green right now. The hrhd app starts up faster then npvr does.

I think I finally fixed it. The power issues are from a bug with windows update that keeps messing up sleep and resume that is affecting alot of systems. Restarting windows update service seems to fix it for a bit. "powercfg -requests" in command prompt showed it.

I also found tcpoptimizer to fix my realtek ethernet adapter. I don't know if thats what was causing the slow connections to hdhr, but everything finally seems to be working.
