I am Running Pop_OS! 21.04 and using the Hauppauge 1250 tv card.

I have gotten tv to show up a couple times, usually after a full system restart. For some reason, restarting the nextpvr service does not seem to have the same effect. I am not really sure where to begin as far as making it work consistently. My end goal is to use NextPVR in conjunction with Emby.

A few things,

- first you need to read more about permissions when you change defaults https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid524823 as you have created folder that don't have the correct permssions /home/sam/TV-Shows/AntennaTV/

- I would turn off the OTA EPG guide updates too, it typically isn't good enough for real use anyway and you are going to use Schedules Direct anyway If Emby is your preferred choice just use Emby with the

- don't use primed either until things are working smoothly.

- it doesn't look like you got the logs via the web page download so you are missing important cached information.

- it looks like you are trying to connect with the v4 Emby plugin, don't bother with getting Emby working until NextPVR is working.

After resetting all settings to default, I am still having an issue: it says "starting device..." for seemingly an infinite amount of time when I try to play any channel. These channels play perfectly on Kaffeine. Any ideas?

I hope to god you have some guidance on this because I have no idea where else to ask or what to google... But it seems like my hvr 1250 tuner card stops being usable randomly. Actually most of the time its unusable it feels like... It won't scan... it won't let me watch any channel. I get the errors I already described on here. And on kaffeine, it says "couldnt find a device with valid settings or permissions are wrong. I have not changed anything and it cycles between being usable and not! The driver for the card is built into the linux kernel.
