Hi,

I recently discover that NextPVR v5 wasn't in beta anymore. It is great, thanks Smile.

I actually have v4 on WIndows and use the add-on on Kodi 18.9.
I will upgrade my Kodi to 19.1 but not for now.

I have some questions :

Should/could I upgrade my Nextpvr windows application to v5 now or should I wait to upgrade my Kodi to 19?

If I install V5, will my v4 be upgraded automatically or is it an independent installation?
I would like to keep my settings, recordings schedules, and guide if possible...

Thanks

Upgrading ease depends a lot on you tuner type, but it it not automatic.

I didn't do real testing of Leia with V4 so I would do the NextPVR upgrade first. Most new addon changes need V5.

v5 is pretty much a new app, and doesn't attempt an in-place upgrade of v4. You basically need to backup your npvr.db3+config.xml, uinstall v4, then install v5.

For some tuner types (basically not IPTV) you can just copy your npvr.db3 and config.xml over the v5 ones, and restart, and your existing settings will be migrated.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies and sorry for my late reply (I don't receive mails notifications).

I use a DVB-T tuner so I hope it will be easy Smile.

Have a nice day Smile
