Extras Pause

I was wondering if there is a way to use a pause in an extra file.

The flow I am looking to accomplish is 

<command> run a py script <command>
wait for script to finish -- about 3 seconds
<command> run a .bat file <command>
play stream

is this possible, and if so what is the syntax for the "pause"

To do this, you'd wrap your couple of commands and pause into a batch file, and have the single command run that

[mvallevand]

Python scripts should be synchronous anyway but you could always use python sleep() at the end of your script.
