API to map remotes with unknown buttons

In the changelog for the 3 January release, there is a note that reads: "- added api to help client with mapping remotes with unknown buttons".

Is there any documentation on this API functionality?

It depends on the client and what your requirements are, perhaps an example of what you want is best

This is only for UI clients, and right now only used. For uidroid I have asked users to post in that section.

UI client and NextPVR.exe can make come changes via the KeyMappings.xml

Kodi remote changes are via Kodi.
