Could you make it possible to include the air date for shows in the information from online as in the uk the default guide data only provides show series and episode information but no air date for the show when it was first transmitted.

If your guide data includes it, it'll show it.

Yes, i accept that, Like I mentioned previously though in the uk the guide does not.
I thought you could easily grab the air date through tvdb whilst grabbing the thumbnails etc if the air date was not supplied originally through the guide.

It would be far easier for you to simply subscribe to Schedules Direct. This is an episode not series API and the EPG data is erased every night so sub would need a way to persist the data, a lot of OTA data doesn't have the necessary links to individual episode.

I have found using epgcollector which grabs info from tvdb for the air dates when searching through individual episodes in the guide.
Regards to sub, I was thinking of just looking up when you click on an item in the guide, when picture info is then retrieved, if info for air date could be grabbed just for the particular item you had selected, that way it would not have to be a mass grab of information to supplement the entire guide populas.

I don't really get any episode information - only series type information. Also, even if I got episode information from these these services (not 100% sure what is available on this front, or how much extra time it add to get it), when it comes to DVB EPG, season/episode numbers are often not known, so I'd have no idea which episode it might be, so no way to lookup info on that specific episode.

Yes I understand it might be tricky and complex, it is just in the uk, from looking at the epg guide data, there is around 60% of titles with either there series and episode numbers for a show are identified at the end of the description line or added when looking at xml data through the episode num system line.
This would make at least for the uk a possibility for quite an high success rate when searching for the right information.
Of course this is all only relevant if you are able to obtain the information in the first place as you mentioned last.

All I can give you is a 'maybe' on that one. I can understand why you'd like to have it, but I think it'd be a lot of work for very little gain. (given I don't already collect information with this data)

If it was available, you'd probably also end up with the original air date from the US, which might not be anything like the date it was on in the UK.

Well I appreciate that anyhow, thanks for considering it.
I understand your position, it is ok either way.
Cheers.
