No FF or Rewind buttons on web app

Newbie here and I  and can't figure out how to  post a log file, or which one to post to help diagnose this issue. I just set up nextPVR with Linux Mint and a QuadHD usb .When I first watched live TV in the web app I had ff and Rewind buttons but they didn't work because of permission issues. . I fixed that, but now the buttons are missing. I can click in the time time bar (not sure if that's the correct name) and get it to FF or rewind, but no buttons. There are buttons for recordings, but not for live viewing. Also, I thought Ctrl + F  also made it FF. I also can't find the settings for how far it skips.

The web app is not as advanced as some other NextPVR clients for remote and keyboard access. The web app is more about navigating the scroll back buffer. You may find other clients more natural
