How do I get in to configure the server so that I can scan for some channels?

Windows failure, new installation, I can't seem to log in to configure the server. I just want to scan for channels! I suspect if I log out here I won't be able to log back in. I changed the password I was sent in my control panel but got no verification.
I just need to scan for some channels. I want my mommie!

I really appreciate the help, but it's all mucked up now. Can I just unjoin and start over? I just want to create a simple user name and a password. You didn't used to have to have a password to use the program. So, if I'm not going to be able to use it I need to know. The password that I tried initially was on my list of passwords. It was the one I used to get into the forums. I wasn't sure what my user name was. It would be simpler if I could just create a new account. Is the forum password the same as the server password?

Are you talking about the forum password or the NextPVR password? For NextPVR the defaults are admin/password for the forum sub will need to help you.

Just to be clear, the login for the NextPVR web app is unrelated to your forums login ("Paula").

The default username/password for new install is: admin/password

If you had managed to login in the past, and set the password, but now don't know what it is, and want to start over, you have two options:

1) edit config.xml and set the login back to the default by setting:

2) or if you're not worried about losing other settings, delete the config.xml, and a new one will be created (with the default login). You'll need to reset any recording directories etc.


NOTE: I'd suggest 1, not 2. If it was just confusion over using the forums login, then do neither of these, and just login with the admin/password.

By default a NextPVR install isn't accessible outside of your home, so it's not a problem that all installs use this same "admin/password" login.

Hey, thanks Martin and sub. You could have advised me to just read a little program documentation and you'll figure it out. But, you both went out of your way. This is a great forum. Had a prolonged power outage this week thanks to Mother Nature. Wanted to get back and thank you guys. I got the server configured and can watch TV now. Nextpvr is on my other pc. I don't do any financial transactions on that one. Can you point to a paypal link to donate.
