Ok, so I think I found my answer reading another thread. So you mention it will use ffmpeg if it doesn't recognize the stream iptv. Is there anyway on the backend to tell nextpvr to bypass ffmpeg even if it doesn't know, i'm sure this question has been asked before. I love Nextpvr.

The logs will explain everything, otherwise this discussion is a waste of time.

As mentioned twice already in this thread, if you supply the logs, I'll try to see what NextPVR doesn't like about the stream, and try to resolve it.

Hi guys,
I would supply logs if I thought it was needed for my questions. i'm not saying there is a problem, I believe Nextpvr is performing as expected.
It has been explained what Im seeing is correct. I'm just askin if there is a way to change that, no logs are needed for those questions.

Now hope you don't mind supportin until logs are required. or are you saying logs are required just to talk to me?

If there is no way for me to make a change on the back end to have nextpvr ignore ffmpeg all together and still function.

Can you help me understand what are the determining factors when Nextpvr recognizes a stream as a IPtv stream or not?

I'm thinking it may be the M3u link it receives
The one I get from my Provider is a PHP script format type and the one I send to Nextpvr is M3u format.
So just wondering if that maybe part of it. I read in another post that was the way user resolve the ffmpeg issue was by changing the m3u  in Nextpvr.

When watching via kodi, NextPVR wont use ffmpeg unless it doesn't know how to natively read the stream.

Unlikely. It'd probably require me to change something in NextPVR, to add support for whatever odd thing your IPTV provider is doing. I don't know what that is without the logs though.

Can be lots of things. Sometimes the IPTV provider uses non standard mime types, sometimes their security gets in the way of things, etc.

Thanks for responding, after taking a closer look, Nextpvr is not running ffmpeg, I have a one system with nextpvr and Emby, and it is Emby using ffmpeg and not  Nextpvr.
But Nextpvr is working as expected.  Thanks nothing needed. Looking at my logs it appears its identify all the streams as Iptv.
Thanks for answering my questons which helped me learn something new today.
I do have a feature request. I'll take a look at the main forum menu to see if there is a place for that.
