Hello,

I'm using version: 7.0.1.241229 with a Docker arm32v7. I am able to reproduce a problem here. If a recording is in progress and if I click the "Update EPG" button in the settings, as soon as the progress hits a channel that is set to a DVB EPG, this aborts the recording. It doesn't seem the XMLTV EPG format causes any problem, from my tests so far. I have attached the log files.

Kind regards.

The is normal tuner 1 will always be used for EPG updates. If this is something you do often move the priority of tuner 2 higher than tuner 1 (but then Live TV will be a problem)

EPG updates are supposed to scheduled when not using NextPVR.

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I was just testing (I still have my recordings abortion issue of which I'm trying to identify the cause, but when I have more, I'll update the other thread), so I won't need to update the EPG manually in the future.

Quote:EPG updates are supposed to scheduled when not using NextPVR

Gotcha... If I understand properly, this means:
  • EPG updates will never start when a scheduled recording is about to start in a few minutes? (I'm asking because, in case the EPG is of DVB type, when the EPG update scans each multiplex channel, it allocates 60 seconds per channel by default, so the update needs time).
  • The "Time" field under the "Automatic EPG Update" section in the settings sets a time for for the EPG routine update: If a recording is in progress at that time, this means the EPG update is skipped to the next day?

Thanks again  Cool

No you must ensure you schedule the EPG time or you have enough tuners so tuner 1 is available at the EPG update time.

Thank you, Martin. I see... My 2 tuners are listed as:
  • tuner-0
  • tuner-1

The EPG uses tuner 1, while the recording service supposedly uses tuner 0 (the first in the list), so apparently there's no conflict, in case they run at the same time.

Sorry my mistake when I wrote tuner 1, I meant the "first" tuner so -0 in this case.

If your browser page wasn't shortened you would see what is on the wiki https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Add...e-settings where it explains how to move them.

Thanks again Martin. Yes... I understand. I inverted both devices in the list, with the arrow icons. The device used by the EPG update (tuner-0) now has low priority and shouldn't be used by the recording service, whatever the time set  Cool

At the same time don't be surprised when you watch Live TV. maybe change this to true in config.xml

<ReversePriorityForLiveTV>true</ReversePriorityForLiveTV>
