Sometimes, my instance of NPVR will become unresponsive. I cannot access the web UI and data is not sent to my Kodi boxes. When I go to stop NPVR in portainer, it will stop with error 137, indicating it needed to be terminated as opposed to a normal exit. This happens for a few days at a time, then everything works again, then randomly it will happen again. Kind of leads me to believe the issue is with my provider, but I'd like to verify.

When this happens, I am unable to pull logs to look at them. When I restart the instance, the log files do not show anything prior to starting NPVR that time. 

I run docker via portainer on an Ubuntu server and can pull backend logs if you can tell me where they are (assuming they exist).

Yeah, you'll need to supply the logs so we can take a look.

In the Settings->About screen, click the log files button, then attach the file it gives you.

Logs should also be available on the drive you mapped for /config after any crash.

I pulled the logs from the config folder and it showed the db image was malformed. I blew away my instance and rebuilt from scratch and the issue resolved itself.

Can I turn this into a request? It would be nice to export channel IDs mapped to their respective name. This way, if you have to rebuild from scratch, you could import channel mappings that match. We use custom numbering for some of the channels and we will need to redo the numbering when/if this happens again

Certainly backing up npvr.db3 and config.xml are recommended and better than designing a safe way to export and import.

Although I agree, this would be a moot point if the DB is malformed. I could attempt a DB repair offline, but I did not go that route this time. From what I can recall, the channel numbers are part of the DB itself and not in the config.

That is why you keep iterations of backups. There are some thing sin config.xml that are worth backing up since some recordings might fail.
