These are all things you should be able to figure out on your own you spending more more time on configuration and reading the wiki and other forum posts. Could you imagine if everyone we used NextPVR decided to learn via support posts?

1. NextPVR don't supply the guide data - it just uses what you tell it to. You can get it from xmltv or schedules direct or dvb epg. What device are you channels coming from? On the Settings->Channel page, what EPG Source is listed next to each channel?

2. you can just type whatever path you want to use.

3. yes

4. most people schedule recordings from the guide. You can make a manual recording though, where you enter the channel and start/end time.

1. None means you're going to get no listings. Do you have a Schedules Direct account, or XMLTV file with listings? You'd need to have one of these to get listings.

2. Is there a specific directory on the drive? At a very least, it'd expect you to type e:\ or e:\some\directory etc

I couldn't answer that question for you. I'm not in the USA, so don't have experience with utilities for getting XMLTV listings in that part of the world.

Honestly, the easiest option for you would be getting a Schedules Direct subscription. Thats what most people in North America use.

As I said, at the very least, "e:" would need have to have the trailing "\" character.

Yes. Are you suggesting an alternative where I pay for your guide data? Ultimately guide data in the US is big business and costs lots of dollars. NextPVR is a non commercial hobby project, so we can't fund the hundreds thousands of dollars it costs to license guide data for the US. We'd have to have been a commercial application and be charging annual subscription fees for that to have been possible. Ultimately, it will end up cheaper for you to pay for your own schedules direct account.

You're options are either:
- you pay for your own Schedules Direct account, and configure NextPVR to use it
- or you source your own guide data as xmltv files, and configure NextPVR to use it
