Can you manual scan for individual channels with V7 ?

Hi all,

I've been using v4 for years now and never had any issues.

I thought I would put some time in and set up the latest version.

I've installed v7 and have been a bit confused by the web interface.

I am using a twin DVBS/S2 tuner card. I scanned the Astra 28.2 satellite and found loads of channels, but I seem to be missing Sky News.

On v4 I would look up the frequency for a channel, if it had changed and manually scan that frequency to add the channel again. 

Is this option not available in v7?

The tuning file for Astra (0282.ini) is stored in the directory C:\program files\nextpvr\data\tuning\dvb-s.
It scans all the current frequencies beamed to UK from Astra. It can be opened / edited using Notepad.

Sky News is transmitted on 12148 (H) however it's a Videoguard channel which means it's encrypted and not viewable on a standard DVB-S tuner as they don't normally have the capability to take a Sky subscription card.

If Sky News is an encrypted channel, then how am I able to tune this in and view the channel with the same hardware using V4 of Nextpvr?

I can see the frequency in the 0282.ini that you mentioned. There must be a work around for this?

I always thought that the SD version of Sky News had always been on Freesat.

From what the bouquet tells me it is not encrypted and should be on two frequencies in the 0282 FTA ini file.

My bad, I'm sorry.

For some reason my first scan of the 0282 FTA file returned nothing, that what made me try the 0282 file, which gave me most channels but not all.

Upon trying the 0282 FTA file again its now picked up all the channels.

Sorry for confusion. Lyngsat has 12148 marked as a videoguarded (encrypted) frequency.
