When I select the conflict button in Xrecord I only get the latest entry of conflicting shows.

I'd like to see all shows that overlap, perhaps grouped by date/time of overlapping conflict.

What I really would like is to be able to jump to the TVschedule to graphically see whats happening, but that's a big wish - I know Big Grin

Perhaps I just missunderstood something... How are YOU correcting conflicts?

I know the conflict resolution in xrecord is weak at the moment. I have plans on reworking it soon. Perhaps showing columns on the right side one with each show in conflict, the one going to be recorded being highlighted.

I actually dont have conflicts. I schedule everything from the guide or fastfind which tells me before letting it in. I never record all episodes of a show so have never had that problem.

As for jumping into the tv schedule it is actually possible now that I have taken over guide2j. However if I did that it would be consumed into xrecord since I would have that dependency on it now.

I will try to take a look at it next week. Do you think this is useful example below
The markers [ ] indicate highlighting show will be recorded. You can move left and right and switch them if needed.

If more than two shows conflict just keep going to the right.

I do a lot of all season recordings, and when a new season starts, they have usually moved it in time so that it conflicts whith something else...

If I understood you correctly, I think the layout of the conflict box would be ok. But when selecting a show, I'd like to get up the same screen as when selecting it from the Pending list. The two most important buttons now being "Find more" and "Delete" (perhaps "Seen it" would also be approprite, never used that myself), but I would also like to see the description of the show - 'cause I normally have not a clue of what the show was about Wink

Blader, have you tried working with the Schedule function of XRecord. Many of your conflicts can be handled for you using the priority scheduling system it provides. This way if they do move your shows around to a different time slot, you can give preference automatically to the one you want to record.

Actually, no. I don't get that many conflicts so I have not investigated in the priority handling yet. I'd also like to see all conflicts that are handled by the priority function (just to make sure I got my priorities rightWink )
Is that possible? In that case, I definitly will start using it.

First of all, I want to say that I am seriously looking at GBPVR as a replacement for MythTV (perhaps within the next 24 hours). That said, one of the things that I find missing is a priority system.

I would advice you look into the MythTV project to see a very intuitive priority system at work. There are several layers too it, but it basically allows you to set a higher number for a more important show. If there are conflicts, the system does it's best to record the the lower priority show at a later time or warn you that there is a conflict.

In truth, with my 2 tuners this is rarely a problem. I do however record entire seasons of the shows I enjoy so this is a feature I would like to see developed.

look at CDK scheduler- it can be accessed through Xrecords advance scheduler function. It CDK handles priorites and more.

Thanks, I noticed this too slightly AFTER my post above (isn't that always the case?). I would be using GBPVR right now if my Windows installs weren't crapped out on me LOL.
