I'm suspecting the answer to this is no but thought i'd ask just in case Smile

Here in the UK we get a pretty comprehensive XMLTV program description which means the program info gets 'chopped off' half way through. I was wondering if there is a way to increase the 256 limit so we can see all the program details?

No - none of the EPG descriptions are longer than 256 characters here, so its not made it very far up the priority list.

I've often thought that a possible work-around would be for someone to write an alternative TV guide plugin that read info directly from the EPG source (in my case an XML file) either in real-time or by maintaining its own DB of some sort.

Cheers,

Maybe something like this:

long description, but it's possible to scroll...

and so on.

It's already working fine here, but I needed to change the database to expand the descriptions and add a column for the image url. As a result, the database grows, which slows down some things in gbpvr.

My xmltv source often contains more than 1000 chars.
