Hi,

is it possible to add an existing mpeg file on the harddisk into the recordings database, so that is occurs in the recordings screen?
I've played around a bit with the ScheduleHelper interface, but in my special case I do not have a channel, a programme or a capture source for the video file.

Another way would be the "import recordings" button in the config app, which would read the necessary information from a xml-file. But I want to this in an automated way. Generating the xml-file wouldn't be a problem. Maybe there is a method in Backend.Common to do the import?

Thanks for any help in advance!

You best bet is to use the 'import recordings' XML functionality. There is no exposed API that you can use to do this.

Hi,

I've created a workaround, these are the steps I use:

- add a fictive channel to my default capture source
- create a xmltv-file which only includes the program I want to add on this channel
- call gbpvr.exe with the -onlyupdateepg parameter
- use schedulehelper to locate this programme and schedule it
- update the scheduled recording to tell gbpvr it is ready to watch and pass the filename

After that, the video file is listed in the recordings screen and my wife is able to delete it after watching Smile

But it's really only a workaround. Maybe, sub, you have the possibility to make a public method in an upcoming release to import recordings in the same way the config app?

Is this not what the Video Library is for?
You won't have any EPG information for those MPEGs anyway, so just view it from the Video Library and be done.

Hi,

I use EPG-information which are read out by my cable-box to a textfile automatically when the video is streamed, and these information are added as title, subtitle and description in the xmltv-file, so that they are available to the gbpvr-database.
Regarding my videos, I don't think that it would download any information for german magazines or so Wink

But I'm quite satisfied with my solution for now.
