I bought MVP from Radioshack this week, got connected to the GBPVR, and everything is fine, but I am thinking that MVP is just not ready for Primetime yet!!

My biggest problem with MVP is not been able to play ISO or DVD mounted via various means.

I have moded Xbox that I use for my primary means to watch DVD or recorded shows using GBPVR on my PC, and I was hoping that I could replace XBOX with MVP, but I am not sure if I will do that.

Yes, it is much nicer to use with GBPVR and MVP Combo, but without not been able to play ISO, I will have to wait for another mature product to come.

I know you can convert to MPG, but I want to keep all my dvd collection in ISO as library ready to burn.

Anyone knows that if new MVP will have that capbility and enhanced/polished UI?

Thanks again for great GBPVR product.. It just works... rob

I dont think that makes it "not ready for Primetime". Its more like you've picked the wrong for your needs. For most people that just want a silent machine that can be used for viewing the GB-PVR interface from several TVs around the home, scheduling recordings and playing them back etc, the MVP is the perfect device.

True DVD or ISO playback is just not something MVP was designed to do. I doubt this is something you'll ever see in the MVP, but I dont think that is a major flaw.

Can someone please explain how to install, configure, and use the XDVD plugin?
The information on the wiki is not very helpful.
Thanks

unzip xdvd.zip to progra~1\devnz\gbpvr and go into config and click on it. There is a file under your skin called xdvd edit settings.xml and populate it. I will update the wiki. I did not plan on releasing it quite yet, but it works.

He did not have the GBPVR interface on the XBOX, he used the file sharing within XBMC to access to files that GBPVR was creating and viewing them that way.

The GBPVR interface is not posible at this time.

No, I don't have moded xbox as front end for GBPVR. I am saying is that if you use PC in the study room to do all the recording, moded xbox is much better front to view the show, slide show, shoutcast, and now DVD from ISO with Menu support.

I will try that plugins. Yes, it is better then noisy xbox, but you can say it is designed for very narrow use.

You will also need to edit the Config.xls to show where the Folder containg the VOD or ISO and which Virtual drive should be mounted. The Config.xls also contains the location on your hard drive the MVP playable file sits. I used word to edit the file and make sure you have a couple of GIGs free fot this file. The file will overwite on it self on the next Play. Use Selected Play to start movies and choose the title where you main movie sits. Push the left and right arrows on remote to select different titles. You can google VLC to download the program needed to do the on the fly conversion. Place the 3 *.bat files into GBPVR and right click choose properties and unblock them if you need to. I hope this helps, It will work nicly once you get it started. It helpful to Keep the VOB and ISO out of the same folder as the Vid. LIB or My Videos.

there is now an update to xdvd. Slightly better. Smile

Now can be skinned and has translation support plus some bug fixes. And a little green box in the corner if vlc is running.
