Once I got the mediamvp up and running(few bumps) it does a really great job. My only complaint right now...it looks significantly better than my main tv using the tv-out on a nvidia 5700. GBpvr's menu's are noticeably crisper and professional looking on the MVP. My question now, what can I do to improve my tv-out screens? Im using s-video out to composite cable since my tv doesnt have an s-video plug. I know its not the tv since I plugged the media mvp into it and it looked great. I have a hard time believeing the graphics card is the problem since its new and a relatively good card? I would just buy another MVP but I need to play DVD's on my main tv. Any gbpvr veterans out there know any tweaking tricks?

I'm afraid the tv-out quality on the nvidia 5xxx series cards is pretty crappy in my experience. I've upgraded to an fx6600gt with hdtv out and it is far far better.

have you tried the new XDVD plugin for MVP? it enables play of dvd's on the MVP Big Grin
and if you keep the default audio-only compression the video is = to a regular dvd player Smile
it only plays the movie but hey, less buttons to press..lol
it also plays ripped directories of dvd's and iso rips too...Big Grin
very handy indeed...and they all said you'll never be able to watch a dvd on mvp...lol

oh and i saw a vga to component tv adapter for 99$ somewhere...i think made by ADS..may actually be a better option for hd-tv owners...but my s-video out on MVP looks nice n crisp on a nice tv..the color suffers on composite out due to limitations of the signal..but the sharpness is about the same...i got a new video card the other day and decided to try it and quickly scrapped that idea in favor of my MVP... now that we can have dvd's and mine is wireless i think it's a unique product that can't be beat..
hope that helps...try that plugin out, a must for MVP owners..
