Sorry, my error. All is fine. Forgot, that the config.xml was opened by another app.

Hey Sub, thanks again for getting the FF and RW functions in the new release. Are you planning on putting the OSD back in that shows you how long the recording is and where you are in it when you pause a show you're watching?

I was using version 98. I downloaded the vcedist file, backed up the config, and gbpvr.db3 file, and ran the installer for updating to 1.1.16. During installation, I got an error 1904 that Module C/program Files, devnz/gbpvr/PsiParser.ax failed to register. I continued with the instal, and got the following message. Microsoft.NET had an "unhandled error. Could not load"Native Utilities Version 1.0.2782.8173.

When I try to start GBPVR, I get an error that it encountered an error and must restart.

I can start Config, but it is empty, even when i copy the backed up files over.

What is the next step? I did not uninstall the 98 program before trying to update since I was not told to in the instructions

thanks

Sounds to me like you didnt run the vcredist_x86.exe contained in the vcredist_x86.zip file.

hey sub - what does the following error in the pvrx2.exe.log mean cause i see it listed about 1000 times at least

Code:
2007-08-16 21:51:46.656    ERROR    [1]    Unable to find brush node: /settings/NamedColors/NamedColor[@name="TimelineIgnoredAd"]

i found it while looking for that issue that i mentioned about the tv guide and some manual recordings - cause i was trying to set a couple tonight by using the tv guide and they just didnt change to red - so i checked the pending list and it was there but showing as a manual recording... ive attached my logs to see if you can find out anything about the recordings.... i tried doing them at about 10:30ish and it was americas most wanted that was causing me all the issues tonight. i did manage to get it too show in the tvguide but that was after deleting the manual recording from the pending list then closing pvrx2 and retrying the record option from the tv guide - i should note that i was trying to record by using the quick and normal record options.

cheers

sub Wrote:PVRX2.exe requires VMR9. This was also the case with the 1.0.8 release - though in that release it'd just crash instead of giving you this more descriptive error messages.

I don't understand, I have always used Overlay mode - up to and including the 1.0.8 release.

You would have only been able to use Overlay if you were using the old GBPVR.exe interface. That is still able use Overlay in 1.0.16. PVRX2 has always required VMR9, even in 1.0.8. It never even looks at the renderer setting in the config app, and instead always uses VMR9.

You may be getting confused if you've been starting the app from the tray icon. In 1.0.8 I forgot to update the tray icon to start PVRX2.exe, so it continued to run the old GBPVR.exe interface (and you had to start PVRX2.exe from the Start menu). In 1.0.16 this has been fixed and PVRX2.exe is started from the tray icon. If you want to run the old GBPVR.exe under 1.0.16, then you need to start it from the Start menu.
