Digital TV... nah, never again. I tried DVB-C at 2005 and was very disappointed. Sometimes standing pictures, noisy pictures with artefacts (dataloss while broadcasting). This with a standalone DVB-C decoder from the provider. No, i am not a fan of digital tv: in the future additional payments, digital rights management and more. Should analog tv someday disabled in germany, i will give up tv und use nPVR just as mediacenter for my dvd collection. *buck*
Just to clear up what seems to be a misunderstanding, DVBLink is not a standalone system like NPVR. It is a background service that allows you to share tuners, on one or more computers.
I'm sorry to hear you had no luck with DVB-C TV, but I'm sure it works fine in Germany too now a days. The sympthoms you describe is typical for a weak signal, which can have many causes. That said the quality if digital tv is absolutly superb conpared to analog, and once you'v seen it you don't want to go back to analog.
PD: I'v bought all my digital tuners from a german company and work just fine
