The Go Advanced dialog showed the uploaded file to be 20KB, but it is 625KB in size. I removed it and tried twice more with same result so I hope the intended graphic file was uploaded. Preview Post shows it to be the correct file.

that's how it looks for me too. The skin was designed for widescreen displays... All things considered it renders remarkably well on 4:3. You could tweak the skin.xml to get rid of the space for the channel logo, and move the station callsign over so there's room for the whole string.

My Hauppauge HVR-1600 tuner card seems to be going intermittently bad and I want to replace it with a Hauppauge Model 1191 which is advertised as having a Blaster for Satellite or Cable box only. Will I be able to use the remote control for NPVR since I am receiving my NTSC signals using an antenna to receive broadcast channels? If not, would it be possible to continue using my old remote control that came with the HVR-1600?

I havnt tested it, but try dropping the Guide-4x3.xml file in "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Skin\Default\TV Guide"

I don't have a 4:3 aspect ratio. It is 16:9, my actual size is 37" (diagonal measure) and it physically measures 32.25" X 18.25". The TV Guide fills the entire screen, so do I have an aspect ratio set wrong somewhere?

By channel logo, do you mean the channel number which is shown on the screen capture as 52 and 55 and are actually 52.1, 52.2, 52.3, etc.? My problem is that I cannot show the proper channel no. (or logo if that is what you mean), or the entire Callsign so there is no way to tell what station I am on. The problem looks like there is too much space between the channel no. and the Callsign. Regardless of aspect ratio, wouldn't it be better to eliminate the unnecessary wasted space between the Ch no. and the Callsign so that the callsign would not be truncated? What's really confusing is that I did not have this problem with 1.5.33. Do you mean the NPVR program has changed to add the extra space?

Thats odd, because your screenshot is 4:3 above.

What resolution are you running your desktop at? What TV Shape do you have set on the General settings screen.

The channel logo, is that 'unnecessary wasted space between the Ch no and the Callsign'. The updated skin file I attached above removed that channel logo to give more space to the channel name, but would only have helped if your tv shape was set to 4x3.

My installation does not have the file Guide-4x3.xml. I have a Guide.xml file and experimented with it. I could reduce the space between the Ch no. and Callsign by changing the default <Element name ="channels" size ="15.45, 6.12" to size="8.27, 6.12". This reduced the space between Ch no. and Callsign from about 8 character widths to 2 character widths and would have solved the problem except more of the Callsign got truncated (all but 2 chrs) because the box for text got more narrow. Increasing the width from 15.45 to 20 increased the wasted space and increased the truncation because the right side of the box went under, or got covered by the next box.

I tried the same experiment with the <Element name = "Guide" size = "80.68, 6.12", and change it to "70.0, 6.12". That made the "6.12" Guide area smaller in width by truncating at the far right and had no discernible effect on the Ch no. & Callsign box, i.e., wasted space and truncation of Callsign stayed the same.

Yes, I know - but the app would have used it if your TV Shape was set to 4:3.

You can replace the existing Guide.xml with that file I provided - just rename it.

The channel logo, is that 'unnecessary wasted space between the Ch no and the Callsign'. The updated skin file I attached above removed that channel logo to give more space to the channel name, but would only have helped if your tv shape was set to 4x3.

My TV Screen is doubling as a monitor and I don't think Windows XP knows what is going on. All I did was hit the Prt Scrn key, pasted into Paint, saved it as a file, and posted it. I guess that's what happens when the TV Screen and Computer monitor are the same device.

The Windows Desktop resolution is set at 1024 X 768 (Right-click on background -> Settings), but the monitor (TV Set) has it's own 1080 resolution and show things when running Notepad or some other application.

The Settings -> General -> TV Shape: is 16:10, but I just tried 16:9 and don't see any difference.

I'm sorry but I could not find the updated skin for 4:3 attachment that you mention in " The updated skin file I attached above removed that channel logo to give more space to the channel name, but would only have helped if your tv shape was set to 4x3". Guess I still don't know how to use this forum, but if you give me a URL where I can download it, I can give it a try. I will also look around some more too. Do I have to Go Advanced to see the attachment?

Its just a few posts above this one. Post #94. It lists the attached files. You can just click on a file to have your browser open/save.
