Basically zap2xml's installer could be better which is why I push SD so hard. You really should be going to them to make it smoother.

Do what sub says. Just copy my CD example from post #79 and replace the path with your own.

Well, God bless you sub, the cd command worked, and NextPVR is now running the epg update batch file successfully. I should have thought of that long ago (I think I did, but some other issue must have prevented it from working.) I will probably never know why I could load only 6 days of programming using zap2it, but tvguide seems to load 15 days just fine. I'm set for now, and will try Schedules Direct next if I run into any further issues.

Thanks to everyone for the help, I really appreciate it! sub, fyi, I could never get paypal to work - paypal itself seemed to be working fine, but could not process the menten transaction 'at this time'. I was able to donate by credit card, though.

The author posted a new version of zap2xml to support the new zap2it.com layout. Read the release notes dated 2018-01-08. Clear the zap2xml cache folder and don't use -D. I also had to delete all my old nextpvr channels and re-import them from the new xmltv.xml file as channel id's seem to have changed.

Can you explain your steps for deleting old channels and reimporting them? There are channels under Devices and under Channels tabs. Thanks.

  1. Download the brand new zap2xml.exe from Jan. 10th.
  2. Run it once to make sure it works and to get a new xmltv.xml file with updated channel id's
  3. In Devices->Device Setup, take note of your channel changer settings then delete all channels (loses channel changer settings)
  4. Set the channel changer to what you noted in step 3 and import the xml file from step 2 (correct channel changer settings shown on each channel in list)

Code:
cd /d C:\Users\myuser\Zap2Xml
zap2xml.exe -u myuser@gmail.com -p mypassword -d 8 > zap2xml.log 2>&1

Mine also just stopped working after a successful two year stint. It looks almost the same. Pasting it below. Have not yet figured out how to fix it. but I see all sorts of updates in the notes for 2018 at http://zap2xml.awardspace.info/

C:
cd C:\EPG
zap2xml -u myuser@mail.com -p mypassword -i icons

Thanks fla and everyone else! That turned out to be a pretty easy update with your instructions in post #97.

I went to my EPG folder and renamed the 2 old zap2xml files to oldzap2xml.* (1 was the original installer and the other the output of the installer. U could also delete these but I have a short memory and would instantly forget where they used to be Smile )

I then dropped the new zap2xml-install in here (the EPG folder) and ran it once.

Then I reran the UPdateEPG.bat file with no changes in the NPVR scripts folder.

The only thing left to do now was to go back to the NPVR app settings>channels and select each channel one at a time then DETAILS and redo the mapping to the correct call sign. (Interesting that all the USA channels needed remapping but most of the Canadian channels were still correct (except 3)

Ran UPDATE EPG again from the settings>channels screen. Now my EPG is populated again with 39 channels and Y&R just started recording minutes ago making my wife super happy.

Many thanks to everyone. This is GREAT.

Thanks. I'm not sure what the channel changer is. What I did instead was go to the Channels tab and double-click on each channel and just remapped it from the drop-down menu at the bottom. That seems to achieve the appropriate result.
