The thing is is TVHeadend is able to detect "New: " there has to be some why to detect it from the OTA data.

I definitely see it in some Freesat samples I have. Ray, if you are checking NextPVR data with v7 you'd have change the new setting <DVBRemoveNew> to false.

A fullmux from DVB-T would be welcome at this point. If anyone won't to post one we can look.

Hi Martin,
Is that something I can do from libreelec?

Yes with dvb tool installed I can walk you through it. There will be about a 200MB file that you can link to, I suggest filetransfer.io for that.

Give me a channel/program and I can check, I have NPVR and a Topfield PVR running and both using the Freeview OTA epg

Hi Jimi,
Off the top of my head some recordings we have at the moment that I think showed New: in TVH are:
Channel 5 the yorkshire vet
E4 Married at first Sight UK

Thanks.
Freeview OTA has New: for the latest Yorkshire vet. I've attached a zipped copy of the EPG from my PVR unzip and open as a txt file. Note this isn't a full epg, it only covers the channels I have tuned in on the pvr, about 45 channels.

@Shadowmask since you will be awake before me and if you are comfortable with ssh, you can try the following.

I will assume Yorkshire Vet is on Channel 5 and you have scanned it into NextPVR, to capture the full mux with dvb-tools in LE. We will get all the channels on that frequency.

Code:
dvbv5-zap -c /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.nextpvr/config/adapter0-DVB-T-channels.conf 'Channel 5' -P -t 60 -o  fullmux.ts

If you get an error confirm the channel name in the conf file and that I typed the conf filename in correctly you can use the tab for filename completions to be sure. Also If you have used NextPVR for playback you will need to restart or stop the server or kill the DeviceHostLinux task

You might want to create another with "Channel 5 HD" in case it is different data.

Then place the file on filetransfer.io and give us the link.

Thanks Martin,
I had a hectic last couple of days with the wife complaining that LE crashed when channel hopping - which it does when using npvr - you eventually get a black screen and loose all connection including SSH so have no choice but to reboot - became a real issue when it's recording at the time.

So for now I'm back on TVH, but I can get the data the next time I get chance to boot from a USB stick to setup nextpvr away from my main install.

I will also try to get some logs for the channel hop issue, but basically she likes to start at channel 1 then channel up until she finds something she wants to watch (never uses the guide and always watches each channel for a second or so, so not just flicking up through the channels quickly without viewing them) and that eventually causes a hard lock on both LE 12 & 13 on my system for some reason.

*EDIT* I did have timeshift enabled with 1 sec pre-buffer as she likes to pause livetv a lot as well, didn't get chance to test real-time yet.

Sorry to hear that. Could be a memory error but it is hard to tell where maybe next time take note and check with top or htop while surfing. Garbage collection in .netcore is out of our control, but it could also be something in pvr.nextpvr. Timeshifting shouldnt be worse, you might as well test in what she uses. If you can tell that it is slowing down and have ssh open you might be able to issue pastekodi to get the URL to the Kodi logs.

Also do you configure NextPVR to keep the tuners primed? On changing channels on the same mux it won't tune so it should be faster (and potentially the source of the problem too)

If NextPVR is still installed but disabled dvbv5-zap will still work to grab the full mux.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure that I did have "keep tuners primed" ticked at the time, I will make a note to try with it unticked and see if it helps at all.

I do still have nextpvr installed and disabled, I would like to try using it again if I can resolve the channel hop issue, but I think I will setup and try it from a USB first sometime to be safe as she records a lot almost every day.

Thanks as always for the help and advice.

Ok I wouldn't mind the full mux sometime just to confirm the "New: " issue. That dvbv5-scan will use the tuner for 60 seconds hopefully you can find a window when she isn't using TVHeadend or recording.

No problem, nothing recording atm Smile

I had to disable TVH server as it had grabbed the dvb devices, I ran the command for Channel 5 (fullmux) and Channel 5 HD (fullmuxhd) both in the zip here:

Thanks as always for taking the time to look into the issue.
Let me know if you need anything else.
