i really like FujiToasts dimovs and dottores. i just would love to see a symbol or icon or something, seperate from "gbpvr", like sage has that little triangle err flowering err, whatever that is. snapstream has a... something (i forget), FujiToast has toyed with this, and looks impressive, just would like to see more options along this lines (not that my opinion matters, its up to sub, just well i want to put the final logo on my bios splash screen, and want a pretty picture [Image: smile.gif]).

sub, when You choose the logo You should keep in mind that a "plain" logo could be best because of the use in the taskbar...
the 3d and light-effects could suffer when the logo is small...

thanks for the comments, narkuma. And I think you're right in that simple is best. That's why all of my logos are made in Illustrator without filters or flares. Not too put that stuff down by any means, but in my professional opinion (I am a professional Graphic Designer), a logo needs to first look good in vector format. When your happy with it there and want to do something wild with it while it's big, go ahead and bring it into Photoshop and play with it for that specific placement. I also agree that in a program like GB-PVR an icon is needed, so that in time the icon can be recognized by itself without the word/s "GB-PVR".

If anybody else has any suggestions go ahead and shout it out, otherwise I'll play around a bit when I have time.

And I do want to say to Dimov that I do like you #7 & #9 in particular. They look really sharp.

I agree, Dimov's #7 and #9 are my favourites too.

Could the tv logo with the play button inside be the logo?

I also agree that a standalone symbol would be appropriate, placed adjacent to the letters of the software's title. I've always kind of felt that a standalone icon should incorporate at least one letter from the product's name, because the logos in Snapstream, SageTV, and many other products look generic and "clipart-ish", like you just never know for sure that they were really custom created icons for that product and they just threw a couple of pieces of clipart together.... Of course, we would know, but.... [Image: smile.gif]

concerning the "iconability" of the logos: nearly every presented logo can be modified to fit as icon in the taskbar for example. dimovs logos work very good, because they have round elements. i tried a bit with my g-power:
