Hi Hoborg

Have you had any feedback from people using SAF6 with Windows 8 yet?

I will probably be upgrading the HTPC from Vista when the upgrade package comes out in a weeks time - at £25, it is almost worth it Big Grin

Obviously I will be using SAF6 (PDVD12 + LAV Audio) and I would hate it that [She Who Must Be Obeyed] came home from work and could not watch her favorite Saturday night programs - could be painful

Yes -- my WAF (wife acceptance factor) is really low for the past two weeks due to lack of TV once our Sage server died.. Luckily I've got the server back and running but am trying to get NPVR going in lieu of Sage.. Still waiting on my remote control hardware.. Big Grin

Hi.
DVD decoding will be supported over LAV video decoder in next SAF release, it will fix some issues.
Please try SAF 6.1.4 WIP - http://hobring.esero.net/saf/binary/saf614_WIP.exe
Just setup nPVR to use LAV audio/video decoders in nPVR DVD decoding.

SAF 6.1.4 released:

- LAVF updated to 0.52
- MPC-HC filter/player updated to rev. 1.6.5.6087
- DXVA checker updated to 2.9.1
- removed outdated Monogram AAC audio decoder and DivX AAC decoder
(fully replaced by LAV audio decoder)
- move LAV video decoder to SAF core. It is now used as primary DVD decoder

Hi Hoborg
Installed SAF 614 on Windows 8 Release Version.

Got some scarry messages on install - Windows 7 unknown version installed & Unable to write to the registry Unknown Language Encountered ( Would that be Czech ? ) Or something like that.

Otherwise with the latest Catalyst 12.10 and PDVD12 all is working with amazing quality.

Only other problem is the way the stupid start screen works in 8 means all your Start Menu folder structure is removed so all the ON OFF buttons, uninstall etc. are on the top level menu (There are no other levels:eekSmile

Hi.
SAF instaler is not tested on Win8, that is why you get the warning.
I dont have plans to even try Win8, there is no reason for it ATM.
But you can cend me your SAF LOGs so i can take a look.

It is working well
Only reason to upgrade was it was cheap & It does improve performance - CPU temps appear to be down from vista
It was a pain in the butt to get it to boot through to the desktop and run NPVR on start - but it does now Smile

Log attached
